On July 1, 2023, the MHCP Provider website was updated with changes that are meant to improve the amount and kinds of incontinence products users have access to.
First and foremost, the Equipment and Supplies section in the MHCP Provider Manual has been updated. Now, disposable briefs, diapers, underwear, pull-ons, liners, shields, guards, pads, and garments (HCPCS T4521-T4535, T4538, T4533—T4544) will be covered up to 400 units per product or combination of products per month without requiring authorization. This means better support for individuals who need these essential items.
Additionally, underpads (T4541-T4542) will also see increased coverage, up to 100 units per month before requiring authorization. This change ensures that caregivers and recipients have better access to the necessary supplies.
